Learn more about my research

My research work was informed by the wish to understand how the mind works and how children grow and learn.

I explored these interests through involvement in research programs spanning developmental, cognitive, and personality psychology.

Research questions I have examined

Why do our brains sometimes work differently after certain challenges or conditions like strokes or epilepsy, and how can we use cool brain scans to figure it out?

Why is play so important for kids, and what do parents in Western Canada think about it when it comes to their children’s learning and development?

Can the way parents feel about money, their tolerance for uncertainty, and their personalities impact how they involve themselves in their children’s education? And what does this mean for families and schools?
